Bio

I am an artist who has lived most of my life in Virginia. In 2013, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts where I majored in Painting and Printmaking. I went on to receive my Master’s degree in Art Therapy from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. My paintings have been internationally exhibited and my work is in the collections of Capital One, Virginia Commonwealth University, VCU Medical College, and numerous private collections.

As the first student intern for Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar, I created an art zine for museum-wide distribution. I was also the recipient of a research grant to collaborate with a colleague in Qatar culminating with an exhibition in Doha. I was selected to present her research on technology in therapeutic settings at a national art therapy conference in Miami.

Artist Statement

By asking the viewer to consider the vitality and details of a seemingly innocuous aspect of the natural world, my art is an invitation to join in a celebration of ephemeral objects and, by extension, a reconsideration of what constitutes important aspects of life.
